Welcome to The Pearl Works! Whether you’re a longtime member, a one-time guest, or just here for a meeting — we’re glad you’re here.

These Terms & Conditions apply to anyone who enters the space or uses our services, including members, day pass visitors, meeting room renters, and guests. By making a booking or entering the space, you agree to the following:

By entering the space, all users agree to abide by The Pearl Works Community Agreements, which outline everyday expectations for shared use, care of the space, and respectful behavior. These agreements are updated periodically and linked on our website

1. Respect the Space & Each Other

The Pearl Works is more than a workplace — it’s a community. By entering our space or using our services, you agree to uphold our shared values of kindness, respect, and mutual care.

We’ve outlined what that looks like in our Community Agreements — a living guide to being a good coworker and kind human in shared space. It covers things like:
• Quiet zones and phone booth etiquette
• Booking and resetting rooms
• Kitchen courtesy
• Guest expectations
• Pets, kids, and being a mindful community member

In short:

• Treat people with respect and curiosity.
  
• Care for the space as if it’s your own (because it is!).
  
• Clean up after yourself and leave things better than you found them.
  
• If something’s broken or not working, let us know — or fix it if you can.

If someone’s behavior crosses a line, we reserve the right to intervene or revoke access.

2. Access + Hours

Standard Access‍

The Pearl Works is open to members, guests, and visitors during staffed hours:

Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:30 PM

• Meeting room rentals, day passes, and guest visits must occur during these hours  

• All guests must check in at the front desk

3. Booking & Payments

• All meeting room bookings and day passes must be prepaid through our booking system.
  
• Members are billed monthly on the 1st based on their membership type.
  
• Cancellations:
  
  • Cancel 48+ hours in advance → full refund
  • Cancel within 48 hours or no-show → no refund

🧾 Non-members: our booking platform does not store your payment info — you’ll need to re-enter it each time.

4. Security & Access

• All guests must check in at the front desk.
• We use a digital entry system. Members with access privileges will receive instructions.
• There are cameras for security purposes on site.
• 🚪 Don’t prop open the door

7. Liability & Insurance

• You are responsible for your own belongings and conduct.
• The Pearl Works is not liable for loss, damage, or theft of personal items.
  
  

8. What’s Not Allowed

🚫 No smoking or vaping

🚫 No illegal substances

🚫 No intoxication or disruptive behavior

🚫 No weapons

🚫 No open flames (including candles or incense)

🚫 No loud, extended phone calls in open space

🚫 No sharing of keys or access credentials

🚫 No intimidation, discrimination, or unethical conduct

9. Addressing Change and Engaging Disagreement

If disagreement arises, we are committed to approaching it relationally and collaboratively. We define dialogue as a conversation rooted in listening, good faith, and mutual transformation. Whenever possible, we will:

• Talk person-to-person to seek shared understanding.
• Explore creative solutions aligned with our community values.
• Avoid legal escalation unless all other paths have been exhausted.

10. Mediation & Arbitration

In the event we cannot resolve a disagreement through dialogue:

• We agree to seek mediation through The Center for Understanding in Conflict or another agreed-upon method.
• If mediation fails, we agree to binding arbitration. A final decision will be made by a neutral third-party arbitrator choosing between either party’s best and final offer.

11. Termination

• We reserve the right to revoke access to anyone violating these terms or our community Agreements.
