Alora: What is one of your superpowers?
Ji: I wouldn’t necessarily call it a superpower, but I’ve had many people tell me that I bring a positive vibe that makes people smile. I don’t entirely believe it myself, but let’s talk and find out together! 😊
How has being a member of our coworking community benefitted you and your work?
Moving back to Monterey from Tokyo was a significant change, and I am glad that I signed up for a tour in Tokyo before moving. The transition has been smooth, thanks to this incredible community!
The location is perfect, providing a serene yet inspiring environment that boosts productivity. The members here make everything so much better – they are friendly, supportive, and always ready to collaborate. I've made new friends, discovered vibrant local communities, and even connected with potential clients!
This space has also helped me establish a solid routine, which has been a game-changer for my productivity. It’s hard to pinpoint just one benefit because being a member here is about adopting a whole new lifestyle that inspires you to be productive and proactive every day.
What are you working on right now?
As a product designer, I have several overseas clients that I work with. Currently, I’m figuring out my path here in the States, whether that means finding a job or starting my own design studio. Regardless, I know I need to keep moving forward!
What do you like to do in your free time?
In my free time, I enjoy playing soccer and basketball and attending events to meet new people here in Monterey.
What is your morning routine like?
I wake up at 6:00 AM and drive to Monterey, chatting with my partner in Tokyo during the 40-minute drive. Once here, I head to the Monterey Sports Center (a 5-minute walk from this space) and then come to the office by 9:00 AM. Before starting my workday, I visit the meditation room, which has an amazing scent and feels like being in a Japanese temple.
What is a concept worth sharing?
"Start with Why" by Simon Sinek has always inspired me to work on things that matter. It even inspired me to buy my website domain, whyji.com.
